How to choose a suitable diaphragm?

The diaphragm of MILEHERTZ diaphragm accumulator is the most critical factor in the life of the impression. It is particularly important to select the diaphragm material of the accumulator. The working environment, medium characteristics, pressure temperature range and life requirements must be considered comprehensively. The following is a comparison of key selection factors and common materials:

1. Medium compatibility is the primary consideration
NBR: Suitable for most hydraulic oils;
HNBR: Oil resistance, water resistance, etc. are all due to NBR;
FPM: Best oil resistance, good acid resistance, almost no swelling;
EPDM: Suitable for water-based media.

2. Product use temperature

NBR: -10℃~+80℃
HNBR: -40℃~+130℃
FPM: -20℃~+180℃

Comprehensive consideration: NBR is suitable for most hydraulic oils, suitable for low-cost conventional use, and is also MILEHERTZ's most conventional diaphragm material; HNBR is better than NBR in all aspects, has good low-temperature performance, and is suitable for extremely cold weather in the north, but the cost is higher; FPM has outstanding corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance; EPDM has outstanding water resistance, but cannot contact oil substances.

When you are unable to determine the diaphragm material, you can describe the operating conditions and our engineers will give you the most suitable option.
